What you need for a free Human Design chart
Three things: your date of birth, your time of birth and your place of birth. The place matters because it sets the time zone, and only with the right time zone does your local clock time become the exact moment the planets are read for.
The best source for your time is a birth certificate or a hospital record. A parent's memory is often rounded to the nearest hour or half hour, which is usually close enough for your type but not always for everything else. If you have the choice, use the documented time.
Why the birth time matters
Human Design reads 13 points at birth and 13 at the design moment, about three months before. Most of them move slowly. The Sun takes almost six days to cross a gate. The Moon is different: it crosses a gate in roughly ten hours and a line in under two, so an unknown or wrong time changes your Moon gate first, in both your personality and your design.
Usually that only changes a gate or two. Sometimes it matters more. If one of those Moon gates completes a channel, a wrong time can define or open a whole center, and that can change your type or authority. And if your Sun sits right at the edge of a line, a few hours can move your profile, for example from 2/4 to 3/5. If your chart shows a center defined only by the Moon, try your time an hour either side and see whether anything changes.
Without any time at all, a calculator has to assume one, usually noon. Treat a chart made that way as a draft: the type is right most of the time, but check it once you find the real time.

- Colored centers are defined: consistent energy you carry everywhere. White centers are open: where you take in and amplify others.
- A channel colored along its whole length is defined: both its gates are active. A channel colored on one half only is a hanging gate.
- Personality activations, from the moment of birth, are gold in our chart and black on most printed charts. Design activations, from about three months before, are rose here and red elsewhere. A channel half gold and half rose is defined by one of each.

What is my Human Design type, and what next?
Your type is the first word of your result and the best place to start. It is calculated, not chosen: a defined Sacral center makes you a Generator, or a Manifesting Generator if a motor also connects to your Throat; a motor connected to the Throat without the Sacral makes you a Manifestor; definition without either makes you a Projector; and no defined centers at all makes you a Reflector. How accurate is this Human Design calculator?
The planetary positions come from the same astronomical routines that run our birth chart calculator, within about a tenth of a degree for the Moon and closer still for the Sun and planets. A gate line is just under a degree wide, so a line can only differ from another calculator when a planet sits within a hair of its edge. The lunar nodes are the true nodes, which is what Human Design software uses, and the design moment is found by searching for the exact instant the Sun stood 88 degrees earlier, not by counting back a fixed number of days.
If you compare with another chart and find a difference, the usual cause is the input: a different birth time, a time zone the other site guessed, or a mean node in place of the true node. The gate wheel itself, with gate 41 starting at 2 degrees Aquarius, is the standard one every Human Design calculator uses.
What this free chart does not show
We would rather say it plainly than let you find out. The calculator gives the angle and the four gates of your incarnation cross but not its name, which you can look up from the gate of your personality Sun. It does not draw the four variables (the arrows), it does not group your channels into circuits, and it does not overlay today's transits or a second person's chart. Most of that is advanced material that depends heavily on an exact birth time, and none of it changes your type, strategy, authority or profile, which are the parts worth living with first.
Privacy: what happens to your birth data
The chart is calculated in your browser from the details you type, and nothing is saved on our side. The town you type is looked up only to find its coordinates and time zone. Your birth details are written into the page address so you can bookmark the result or send the link to someone, which also means anyone you share that link with sees them.
You do not need an account or an email to see the chart, and you can make as many as you like, for yourself, a partner, a child or a friend.
